The passion for graphic designer, rock'n roll and horror movie; Miriam, from France has created cool "Pink Zombie" clothing.
AngelDevil: Talk about Pink Zombie Collective. When began your business out? Who is behind Pink Zombie t-shirts?
Miriam: I started it in March 2009, which is only a few months ago. I'm the only one handling everything, except printing and shipping the clothes.
AngelDevil: How many store selling Pink Zombie clothing?
Miriam: At the moment you can mostly order them in my online store if you're in Europe or North America. You can also get them at some special events, and you can find a very few items in Paris rock/underground shops. I haven't really tried to deal with stores yet actually.
AngelDevil: Who are your biggest clients?
Miriam: They're mostly rockers, but also visual kei people sometimes, as well men and women.
AngelDevil: What’s your most popular Pink Zombie clothing?
Miriam: There are a few popular t-shirts, can't name just one... But if I had to make one only shirt that reunites the popular designs, it would be about a rock'n'roll queen who wears lipstick, knows how to fight zombies, and eats their brains for dinner. I guess that would be horrible in the end, it would rather fit a b-movie scenario (or maybe not!)
AngelDevil: I know Pink Zombie will be at the next GLAMATTAKK festival in Torino, on Saturday July 4th. Tell me about it.
Miriam: You'll find me at my merchandising stand, selling some Pink Zombie t-shirts, drinking, talking to people, making stupid jokes, or whatever.
AngelDevil: Which pop icon or rock star, would you want to wear your t-shirts?
Miriam: There's actually Karen Cuda from Nashville Pussy who owns a couple of them. You can maybe also recognize some of my models, who are people from Adam Bomb, Blackrain, Watcha, Dead Sexy Inc, Tokyo Decadance, Gadget... But I’d be more than happy if one day I see Michael Monroe, Alice Cooper, or D-A-D members with something from Pink Zombie!
AngelDevil: What have you been listening to lately?
Miriam: Let's check my mp3 player... I see Alice Cooper, Bloody Mary, Caroline, Chopin, Dead Sexy Inc, Disneyland After Dark, Hanoi Rocks, Michael Jackson, Offspring, Pretty Boy Floyd, Ramones, Silver Dirt, Tigertailz, Vietcong Pornsurfers...
AngelDevil: Do you recall a t-shirt that really made an impression on you?
Miriam: There are sometimes, it's hard to name just one... it's mostly t-shirts with cool rock'n'roll designs, or old horror movie designs... now you understand why these are the themes in Pink Zombie :)
AngelDevil: What can we expect from Pink Zombie T-Shirts in the future?
Miriam: They'll prepare your breakfast in the morning, attract every good looking guy/girl to you, and give you the ability to teleport... ok, if I could really do that, then they'd be like this.
Actually there will be more designs coming up once in a while, more events... Oh and I’m currently working on a serie of mini-advertising-movies with a pink glam zombie who loves hairspray and rock'n'roll! The first episode should be released on youtube soon.
AngelDevil: It sounds good!! Well that's all I have for you. Is there anything else you'd like to say?Miriam: I could try to say something in Italian, but my Italian friends only learn swear words to me, so that would sounds bad in an interview, sorry...!
